Wow!!! Todays class was great!

These last two days in class have been very interesting! I have learned so much! Finally I know why we give the DIBELS and it makes sense. I now understand how to use the information gained from this test. We have been discussing phonemic awareness and why is important. Until this class I did not grasp the importance of this. Today we discussed how oral language develops and the difference in receptive and expressive. As we were learning about this I sat and thought about my students this past year and where each of them were in their language development. It was very eye opening for me! I also learned one reason my child did not walk until she was 15 months old!!! She developed her language skills early!! So far I am learning many new things in this class! Everyday when I come home I feel like a saturated sponge! Some days even a nap is necessary!!!
